We would like to thank everyone who auditioned for Charleston Dance Project and welcome our newest members!
We would also like to thank Jennie Moore Elementary School for graciously allowing us to use their studio space for auditions as we are eagerly awaiting to open our doors at the new Dancefx studio at 700 King St.
Auditions began with a prep class where we were able to learn a little bit more about each other, our dance backgrounds, and what we embody as our spirit animals. After a series of across-the-floor exercises to warm up our auditionees, our creative director and choreographer, Alexa Gould, taught the audition combo. When auditions were held the next day, everyone did well with retaining choreography, performing the combo, and just having a great time dancing with each other!
We are so excited to get started working on pieces to perform this year!
Stay tuned for our upcoming performances at DanceAthens 2017, Charleston Arts Festival, the Coastal Carolina Fair, and the Dancers Against Cancer Benefit Showcase!
Also, keep an eye out on our social media and your email for auditions for our hip-hop and street jazz performance company, Holy City Sirens!
